Battery choice quietly decides your ride-on's price, weight, run time and warranty exposure. Most models ship with sealed lead-acid (SLA), but lithium packs are appearing in premium lines.

Sealed Lead-Acid (SLA)

SLA remains the default for 6V and 12V ride-ons: it is cheap, safe and easily replaceable. Its downsides are weight and a 300-500 charge-cycle life. SLA packs also degrade faster if stored fully discharged.

Lithium (Li-ion/LiFePO4)

Lithium packs weigh about a third of SLA for the same capacity, hold charge longer and last 2-3x more cycles. They add roughly 15-25% to unit cost — viable for premium and 24V models where buyers expect it.
