'The car won't move' is the most common service call in the industry. In most cases the fix is simple and takes under ten minutes.
1. Check Power First
Is the battery charged? Is the battery switch on? Is the charger working? A surprisingly large share of 'broken' cars are simply discharged or have a tripped switch.
2. Test the Pedal Switch
The foot pedal switch fails from grit and wear. Bypass it briefly with a jumper to see if the car moves — if it does, replace the switch.
3. Listen for the Motor
If the motor hums but wheels do not turn, suspect the gearbox or a stripped drive gear. If there is total silence, test the motor directly with 12V.
- Battery discharged — most common
- Pedal switch worn — cheap to replace
- Stripped gear — replace gearbox
When to Escalate
If the car runs on the bench but stalls under load, the issue is mechanical drag — check wheel nuts and bearings. Persistent issues under warranty should route back to the supplier's spare-parts program.
