A post-Canton Fair RFQ should make the buyer’s commercial project understandable in one message. A catalogue request may produce a large file but not a comparable answer. The supplier needs to know the market, buyer type, product category, quantity, configuration, packaging, documents and approval route. The following template is designed for importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers and private-label brands sourcing ride-on toys from China.
Copy-ready RFQ subject
Wholesale ride-on toy enquiry for [country] — [category] — [sample or container quantity]. Keep the subject specific enough for the sales team to route it to the right product and quotation contact.
Buyer and market fields
Start with company name, country, website or sales channel, buyer type and destination port. State whether you are importing for distribution, retail, wholesale, a project or a private-label programme. A supplier can then propose relevant models and ask the right follow-up questions. If the destination has special language, plug or document needs, write them in this section.
Product and configuration fields
List the category and preferred SKU, or describe the target product if the SKU is not known. Include target age positioning, voltage, battery type, motor or drive arrangement, remote control, music or lighting functions, colour and key accessories. Ask the factory to identify the final configuration in the quotation. Do not assume that a product photo represents every version shown in a catalogue.
Quantity and commercial fields
Choose one or more of these planning levels: one sample, less than one container, one container, multiple containers, or distributor/retail programme. Provide an estimated range and a target launch date if relevant. For mixed loading, list quantities by family. Ask the supplier to state MOQ conditions for the exact model, colour, packaging and artwork, because MOQ can change with the project scope.
Packaging and document fields
State standard carton or private-label carton, logo, barcode, manual language, warning labels, importer details and artwork status. Ask for carton dimensions, net and gross weight, packing quantity and contents. Name the destination market and ask which certification, test report, declaration, manual and battery or charger information can be matched to the final SKU. The certification page provides a starting point, not a substitute for destination-specific verification.
RFQ field table
| Section | Fields to send | Expected supplier response |
|---|---|---|
| Buyer | Company, country, type, channel | Relevant contact and scope |
| Product | Category, SKU, voltage, battery, functions | Final configuration and images |
| Quantity | Sample, container or programme | MOQ and quantity conditions |
| Packaging | Carton, logo, language, barcode | Artwork, packing and cost scope |
| Documents | Market and required files | Available version-specific records |
| Next step | Sample, call or quotation deadline | Written action and timing |
How to assess the response
Check whether the supplier answered every field, separated included and excluded scope, and kept the same SKU across text, images and packing data. Compare at least two quotations using the same sheet. Use products to shortlist categories, Factory Facts to prepare factory questions, and B2B contact to send a complete enquiry. CT TOYS is a wholesale ride-on toy factory and does not sell single units to consumers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a buyer copy this RFQ without knowing the SKU?
Yes. Give the category, market, target age, voltage, battery, functions and quantity so the factory can suggest a comparable model.
Why include buyer type?
Importer, distributor, retailer and private-label buyers have different packing, service and document priorities.
Should a buyer request the lowest price?
Request a comparable quotation with clear scope first. A low price that omits packaging, documents or the required configuration is not a useful comparison.
